Fatigue

A public opinion poll conducted by the Traffic Injury Research Foundation in 2011 found that almost one fifth (18.5%) of Canadians reported falling asleep at the wheel in the past 12 months. In the same poll, 14% of respondents admitted to driving often when they were fatigued.

Young drivers and specifically young males are most likely to be driving late at night and to be sleep deprived because of their lifestyle. Drivers that are younger than 25 years of age are one of the most at risk groups in respect to fatigue related crashes.
